What Are Mentors?
Meez Mentors are leaders and role models on Meez. They are chosen by the Meez Admins to help guide Meezers. With the months and sometimes years they’ve spent as enthusiastic Meezers, Mentors help Meezers solve problems, they answer any questions Meezers may have, and they encourage Meezers to stay safe and follow the Meez Community Guidelines. Mentors are very knowledgeable of Meez, and very familiar with the forums and MeezNation. If you have a question, or just want to chat about Meez, find a Mentor!
Where are the Mentors?
Each forum has a specific Mentor, or a few Mentors, assigned to it. You'll notice them responding to threads, and being generally helpful. These are great go-to people, for any questions you might have. Each MeezNation hood also has a Mentor, or Mentors, assigned to it. So next time you’re hanging out in a MeezNation hood and you have a Meez question, keep an eye out for that hood’s Mentor!
What Do Mentors Do?
Mentors’ main focus is on two things: helping Meezers, and keeping the Meez community safe. Mentors carefully answer questions from Meezers – via PM, in forum threads, or while chatting in MeezNation. They enjoy helping out. For example, if a Mentor receives a PM from a Meezer asking them a question, the Mentor will answer it as promptly and specifically as they can. Mentors also engage with users in MeezNation and the forums, positively and enthusiastically, all the while being available to answer Meezers’ questions whenever possible.
Mentors help to ensure that Meezers' language and behavior are appropriate. When a Mentor sees behavior that breaks one of the Meez Community Guidelines, they report abuse on it immediately—just like all Meezers are encouraged to do. Note that Mentors report all Meezers who break the rules, including their friends.
Why Are Mentors’ Names Blue?
Mentors have blue names so that Meezers know when there’s someone around who can help them. So, if you have a Meez question or an issue that you’re struggling to figure out on your own, and you see a blue name, you’ll know that you’ve found someone who can help!
Note that Mentors sometimes choose to make their name appear normally (not blue). During those times, the Mentor is taking a break from their position as a Mentor. So, if you’re in MeezNation and you have a question, please only ask Mentors with blue names.
Can a Mentor Ban Me?
No, Mentors do not ban Meezers. Sending infractions and banning is the job of Admins, who are employees of Meez. Mentors are volunteers who are very excited about Meez, and long-time Meezers themselves. They’re there to help you out, to be enthusiastic, and to keep things running smoothly.
Can Mentors Break the Rules?
Mentors are still Meezers, and thus are still required to follow the Meez Community Guidelines.
How Do I Apply to Become a Mentor?
If you're interested in applying to be a Mentor, please read this FAQ again before applying. It’s a very competitive program, and it’s important that you understand as much as possible prior to applying. You may find after reading it again that you're not interested anymore, and that's fine. There are lots of other awesome ways you can enjoy Meez, and help other Meezers -- such as being extra nice to new Meezers, or writing a tutorial for the Tutorials Forum. You could even talk to a Mentor about these opportunities!
If you decide that you are still interested, then you can click HERE to apply.
